Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean is ecstatic about his younger brother’s football journey.
Class of 2027 prospect Jaxx DeJeancommitted to the Iowa Hawkeyes on Dec. 22, 2025. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound tight end out of Odebolt-Arthur-Battle Creek-Ida Grove (OABCIG) High School made the announcement on Instagram.
Jaxx shared carousel images donning the Hawkeyes’ signature black and gold uniform for the first time.
“🏠🐤 #committed,” he captioned the post.
His brother and biggest supporter was left speechless. Cooper skipped the words entirely and let his emojis do the talking.
“0️⃣🐤,” he wrote.
Jaxx fielded offers from Kansas State, Michigan, UAB and UNLV before making his decision. The allure of playing in his home state proved too good to pass up. He followed in the footsteps of Cooper, who was a product of Iowa from 2021 to 2023.
Cooper DeJean Gearing Up for Year 3 With the Philadelphia Eagles
Cooper will have plenty of wisdom to shareheading into his third NFL season. He finished his sophomore campaign with 93 tackles (64 solo), two interceptions and one forced fumble. He also posted 16 passes defended, ranking 10th in the NFL.
He earned his first Pro Bowl nod and capped the year with a Super Bowl LIX ring. The 23-year-old punctuated it with a pick-six off Mahomes on his 22nd birthday in a 40-22 Super Bowl blowout.
Cooper will now guide his little brother through that same Iowa program. Jaxx summed up what made Iowa the easy choice in an interview with HawkeyeReport.com.
“Iowa just feels like home,” he said. “Playing the tight end position and getting the opportunity to play at Tight End University feels great.”
For the two brothers, every path leads back to Iowa City.
