Knicks’ Mikal Bridges breaks down how offense can improve in Game 4 vs. Spurs

The New York Knicks are up 2-1 in the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. However, they lost their most recent game largely because of struggles from Mikal Bridges. In fact, the 3-and-D wing they once traded five first-round picks for has struggled all series long. In Game 1, Bridges only had nine points. He bounced back with a 20-point Game 2 performance, but New York's recent loss saw Bridges make only one field goal. A one-for-five performance resulted in just two points, and while Bridges might contribute more on the defensive end for the Knicks, he underwhelmed on that end in Game 3, too.

Bridges has long had great chemistry with his New York teammates, but he has been somewhat out of the offensive flow as of recent. The Villanova product knows changes need to be made if the Knicks are to avoid blowing their 2-0 lead.

“Our offense has got to be way better,” Bridges said. “I think we're stagnant offensively, and not helping the next guy out.. We've got to move without the ball and be less stagnant so we can help each other out.”

While Bridges is only the fourth offensive option in New York, he did average as many as 26.1 points per game as the top dog with the Brooklyn Nets. New York can rely on Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, and Jalen Brunson, so they don't need Bridges to score at a superstar level, but they most definitely need more out of him.
