Quarterback Caleb Williams proved to be a strong fit in Ben Johnson's offense by leading the Chicago Bears on a run to the Divisional Round. In 2026, he is looking to prove his past season wasn't a fluke while further reaching for his No. 1 pick potential.
Helping him along the way will be Chicago's wide receiver duo in Rome Odunze and Luther Burden. With all respect to Odunze, tight end Colston Loveland wouldn't be shocked to see Burden continue climbing up the Bears' pecking order, via Adam Jahns of CHGO.
“He's the truth, man. He's the truth – nothing but the truth,” Loveland said. “The way he works, his attitude, his mindset, he's a guy you want on your team, for sure.”

Over his first 15 games in the league, Burden caught 47 passes for 652 yards and two touchdowns. The Bears were patient in installing him into their offense, as he didn't receive five or more targets until Week 9. But from there, Burden received at least five targets in six of his last seven games.
Now, the receiver's responsibilities are only going to increase. The Bears traded away DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills, opening up even more targets. Furthermore, alongside Loveland, Johnson has spoken openly about how he expects a Burden breakout.
There are plenty of pass catchers Williams will be targeting when he looks down field to throw. Loveland and Odunze are joined by Cole Kmet, Sam Roush and D'Andre Swift amongst others. But when it's all said done, the tight end wouldn't be shocked if it was Burden leading the Bears' passing attack.
