The San Antonio Spurs notched their first victory of the 2026 NBA Finals on Monday night, taking down the red-hot New York Knicks with a 115-111 final score at Madison Square Garden.
The Knicks stole Game 1 and Game 2 at San Antonio’s Frost Bank Center, but both games were well within the Spurs’ reach. Jalen Brunson and the Knicks pulled away late in Game 1, and some costly fourth-quarter mistakes resulted in a one-point loss for San Antonio in Game 2.
Now that the Spurs have their first NBA Finals win in the rearview mirror, they have some confidence moving forward.
During an exclusive sit-down interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews after Game 3, second-year guard Stephon Castle was asked if he expects to win Game 4.
“I expect us to win the next three,” Castle replied.
“Us just taking it game by game, quarter by quarter and trying to walk this thing down,” he continued. “Those first two games really hurt. I feel like it was an eyeopener for us. … We definitely expect to come in tomorrow and come out of here with a win.”
Castle put forth an impressive performance in Game 3, finishing the contest with 23 points, five rebounds and five assists. His All-NBA teammate Victor Wembanyama recorded 32 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three blocks.
Game 4 of the NBA Finals will tipoff at 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
