Watch Mavericks’ Kyrie Irving cook campers on 2026 comeback trail

Fans are dying to see Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving back on the floor. He was forced to sit out this season due to an ACL injury, and the Mavericks made a free fall to the bottom of the cellar.

Irving remains one of the most popular players in the NBA, and many miss his ankle-breaking handles and fearless forays to the hoop.

Luckily for some high schoolers, they were able to witness Irving back in action, even for just a few minutes. The 34-year-old guard was among the mentors at the NBPA Top 100 camp in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and he did not let the opportunity pass to cook some of the participants, as shown in the video posted by Swish Cultures.

Irving looked fantastic, showing off his mobility, quickness, and skill set to dozens of teenagers, who probably grew up imitating his daredevil drives and off-hand layups in their driveways.

Several NBA stars suited up in the famed camp, including Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker, New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson, and Washington Wizards guard Trae Young.

The one-time champion has not played in the NBA since March 2025, but he is expected to make a full recovery for next season.

What is unclear, however, is whether he would still be with the Mavericks by then. Irving has been linked to trade rumors over the past few months, especially with the Mavericks focusing on building the roster around Cooper Flagg.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, the Houston Rockets, and the Los Angeles Lakers are just some of the teams reportedly trying to acquire the nine-time All-Star.

In the meantime, Irving will continue his road to recovery. If that involves embarrassing more high schoolers, then so be it.
