As captured in the official announcement document posted on X, Mayor Mamdani officially declared Wednesday, June 10, 2026, as “Wear Blue and Orange Day” across the five boroughs. The proclamation invites city workers, public school students, and educators to rock the team's iconic colors ahead of a pivotal Game 4 clash against the San Antonio Spurs.
“Nothing says ‘let’s go Knicks’ like blue and orange,” Mamdani said in the release. “As our Knicks continue this historic run, we’re inviting New Yorkers to show their pride, wear the city’s colors, and stand behind a team that has brought all of New York together.”

The timing couldn't be more perfect. The Knicks just dropped Game 3 at Madison Square Garden in a grueling 115-111 loss, which snapped their historic 13-game postseason winning streak. Despite a stellar 32-point performance from superstar guard Jalen Brunson and 28 points from OG Anunoby, New York faltered down the stretch.
