Miami Heat forward to play for Serbia this summer

Serbia have received another positive response, as another key NBA player is set to join the national team this summer.

According to Meridian Sport, Miami Heat young forward Nikola Jovic will be available for Serbia this summer.

The 23-year-old forward was one of the leading players for the national team at the last EuroBasket, averaging 12.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.

This season, in his fourth NBA campaign, Jovic had a slightly reduced role, with his minutes dropping to 17.0 per game. He averaged 7.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.

Bogdan Bogdanovic expected for August window

Additionally, according to the report, Bogdan Bogdanovic will not take part in the first upcoming window against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland.

However, he is expected to be available for the August gathering in the first round of the second phase.

Bogdanovic is also coming off a tough NBA season, appearing in only 23 games with the Los Angeles Clippers and averaging 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.

Nikola Jokic also set to play for Serbia

Jokic is expected to play in both the July and August windows after another dominant NBA campaign.

The Nuggets center finished second in the NBA MVP voting this year, averaging a triple-double with 27.5 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 10.6 assists per game.

Serbia continue World Cup qualifying campaign

Serbia currently sit second in Group C of the European World Cup Qualifiers with a 2-2 record, while Turkiye top the group with a perfect 4-0 record after beating Serbia twice in the last window.

Serbia will conclude the group phase with a road game against Switzerland on July 2 and a home game against Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 6.
