Talented young Liverpool goalkeeper Armin Pecsi made his senior international debut for Hungary yesterday, coming off the bench against Kazakhstan.
Reds teammate Dominik Szoboszlai scored and assisted in a 3-0 win, with Pecsi's progress in the last few months being rewarded by coming on just after the hour mark in Debrecen. The 21-year-old is very highly thought of at Liverpool, though he might need a loan spell next season to take the next step.
Signed from Puskas Akademia last summer, he has been playing for Liverpool's U21s while training with Alisson Becker and Giorgi Mamardashvili, picking up some vital skills and experience in the process.
Alisson could move on next summer when his contract expires. There has been interest from Juventus in the last few weeks, but that talk has since cooled.
Mamardashvili would be next in line, but Pecsi will hope to develop to the point where he can compete for a place in the starting XI in the next few years.
Previously, he played in the Hungarian top flight, and those performances saw him named on the European Golden Boy list as one of the most exciting young talents in the game.

That also earned him a $2.0 million (£1.5 million) transfer move to Liverpool. Pecsi played at Anfield in the pre-season friendly against Athletic Club ahead of last season kicking off.
Pesci certainly impressed as he made a big save just minutes after coming off the bench, charging out quickly to block Gorka Guruzeta's effort after the Athletic striker broke free.
He didn't manage to hold onto a clean sheet, but he did enough to suggest Liverpool fans could have another exciting goalkeeper on their hands.

Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.
Pecsi played 17 games at youth level for Liverpool last season. In that time, he kept four clean sheets and conceded a total of 32 goals.

He made the bench four times at senior level, including three in the Premier League. The other was the League Cup defeat to Crystal Palace when Freddie Woodman started.
Liverpool.com says: Pecsi looks to be a real talent and there are a good line of goalkeepers coming through at Anfield. Vitezslav Jaros is another; he was unfortunate with injury while out on loan at Ajax last year.
This summer, Liverpool has plenty to do in the transfer market. As long as Alisson stays, the goalkeeping position should be sorted.
