Barcelona have officially bypassed Marcus Rashford’s £26 million buy clause, meaning he will return to Manchester United when England’s World Cup campaign has finished.
That’s unless a new deal can swiftly be agreed between the Red Devils and Barça, but that’s looking increasingly unlikely following their £70m acquisition of Anthony Gordon, who occupies the same position as Rashford.

How did Rashford fare for Barcelona?
Alas, United’s former No.10 is now playing to impress new suitors when the World Cup gets underway.
He did enjoy a successful spell in Catalonia, returning 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions, as well as claiming silverware in the form of a La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup.

Yet, his efforts were not enough for Barcelona to add him to their ranks on a long-term contract.
What next for Rashford?
All signs up to this point have suggested that Rashford would not be reviving his United career, even in the aftermath of Ruben Amorim’s departure earlier this year.
However, the prospect of the 28-year-old pulling on a United shirt again will perhaps be circling the minds of INEOS chiefs Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada, particularly if their financial demands are not met by any club.

RASHFORD’S COMPLETE RECORD FOR UNITED
Rashford is currently valued at £35m by Transfermarkt, but that figure could rise if he plays an influential role for England over the coming month.
Elsewhere, Bayern Munich have reportedly begun sizing up a swoop for Rashford, as they had been targeting Anthony Gordon prior to his Blaugrana move.
Bayern are still in the market for a proven and available left-winger, hence landing on the Carrington graduate.
