Liverpool are “offering important money” to ensure Yan Diomande joins over Paris Saint-Germain this summer, with the RB Leipzig winger their “top priority.”
Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the situation around Diomande, with Liverpool “really pushing” while PSG remain “in the background.”
“Both clubs are still in the mix. Liverpool are really pushing, really insisting to make it happen,” Romano explained on YouTube.
“For Liverpool he’s a top, top priority. They are offering important money to the player to get it done.
“On the other side, PSG are also keen, but it depends on what happens with Barcola, Goncalo Ramos, Lee Kang-in.
“There are players who have to leave PSG, while at the same time Liverpool already made some space with Mo Salah leaving.
“At the moment the understanding is Liverpool are really pushing, PSG are still there in the background.”
How much do Liverpool need to pay for Yan Diomande?

Leipzig value their winger, who has only spent one season in the Bundesliga having joined from Leganes last summer, at around €130 million (£112.4m).
The German club are still seeking to tie Diomande down to a new contract to guarantee another campaign as part of Ole Werner’s side.
“Let’s wait and see, but it is for sure eventually going to be a very expensive transfer, because Leipzig want to keep the player one more season,” Romano continued.
“Leipzig still hope to offer him a new contract – better salary, release clause, leave in one year – so let’s see what happens.”
It has previously been reported that Diomande would look to finalise his future before the World Cup, with the Ivory Coast’s first fixture coming against Ecuador on Monday, June 15.
Whether that is still possible remains to be seen, with Leipzig’s high price tag and their desire to keep the 19-year-old clearly complicating negotiations.
But with Diomande their “top, top priority,” Liverpool’s focus for now may be on ensuring he chooses them over PSG – which explains the offer of “important money.”
The departure of Salah has not only freed up a starting spot in Andoni Iraola‘s squad but also cut up to £480,000 per week from their wage bill.
