Liverpool eyeing move for Champions League-winning star with"really delicate touch"- report

Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Real Madrid star Arda Guler this summer, with some Premier League rivals also keen.

It won’t be long until the Reds’ transfer work ramps up, with Andoni Iraola, Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes all working to bring in the right signings.

New additions are needed all over the pitch, whether it be right-back, central midfield or a right-sided attacker to take the place of the departed Mohamed Salah.

According to Sports Boom, Liverpool are in the mix to sign Madrid ace Guler ahead of next season, with the Reds “closely monitoring” him.

Arsenal are mentioned in the same breath, but Chelsea could be further ahead in the race, with Xabi Alonso considering him an “absolute priority” after managing him at Madrid.

Could Arda Guler light up Liverpool with his brilliance?

Guler is such a talented young player with years ahead of him still, with Madrid legend Toni Kroos speaking highly of him as a player in the past:

“Arda is also a different type of player than me. His best position is much more attacking than mine, so it’s not about me succeeding him at all. But I’m generally pleased because he’s a good lad. I’ve played alongside him. He has a really delicate touch, which he’s already used very effectively for Real this season. That’s why I hope he continues to get consistent playing time, because that’s the only way to improve. Then I’m sure he can make his mark at Real for many years to come.”

Guler is still only 21, even though he has been around for a while, and he can shine on both the right wing and in an attacking midfield role, which Iraola may like.

The only downside is that the Turk doesn’t have a good relationship with Dominik Szoboszlai, with the pair involved in a few spats in the past.

Hopefully, they would overcome that issue if they were teammates, though, and Guler would be an exciting signing with so much natural ability, bagging 43 goal contributions in 112 appearances for Madrid, as well as six goals in 30 caps for Turkey.
