The Sacramento Kings and Charlotte Hornets have reportedly held recent trade talks centered on Domantas Sabonis.
The future of star big man Domantas Sabonis with the Sacramento Kings appears uncertain as trade rumors continue to swirl with the offseason getting underway.
Multiple teams have emerged as potential landing spots for the Lithuanian center over the past couple of seasons, and now another up-and-coming Eastern Conference playoff contender appears to be interested in acquiring the three-time NBA All-Star.
Hornets held talks with Kings
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Kings and Charlotte Hornets have held recent trade talks centered around Domantas Sabonis.
"Per league sources, Sacramento and Charlotte have had recent talks about Kings big man Domantas Sabonis. While a deal is not imminent and appears unlikely before the June 23 draft, sources say the Hornets have some interest in the 30-year-old, three-time All-Star," Amick reported.
"The problem for now, it seems, is that the Kings have been hoping to land one of Charlotte's two first-round picks (they have Nos. 14 and 18) in the deal, and the Hornets have signaled a desire to retain their picks and discuss Sabonis later in the summer," he added.

According to earlier reports, Sabonis has been mentioned as one of the notable names in the league's early trade landscape who could be made available for trade talks by the Kings.
Jake Fischer of The Stein Line reported that executives around the NBA have been monitoring Sabonis' situation closely as Sacramento evaluates its roster direction.
However, despite the noise, Sabonis remains under contract for two more seasons, including a $45.4 million salary for the 2026-27 campaign, giving Sacramento flexibility in how it handles his future.
Sabonis remains productive when healthy
This past season, Sabonis was limited to just 19 games, but he still delivered productive numbers when healthy, averaging 15.8 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.
Even with availability concerns, the Kings continue to view Sabonis as a high-impact big man when he is on the court. His rebounding, passing, and interior presence still make him one of the more unique centers in the league.
