Everton and Leeds United have now stormed into the race to sign a clinical striker, with an offer already prepared ahead of the summer transfer window.
Everton could already replace Thierno Barry
There was just one piece missing from David Moyes' side last season and that was a clinical striker.
Despite the arrival of Thierno Barry in a deal worth around £27m, the Toffees once again found themselves relying on Beto towards the end of the campaign. Ultimately, it was not enough to secure European football even as the forward netted nine Premier League goals.

Those in Merseyside have been on the hunt for a clinical goalscorer ever since, as they look to bridge the gap on the top eight. It's seen the likes of Gabriel Jesus emerge as target in a bargain deal.
Meanwhile, if the Friedkin Group are prepared to spend big, then another impressive name could become a top target in the coming months. Leeds, however, may have a say in that before the summer of business concludes.

Everton and Leeds racing to sign clinical striker
The two Premier League sides are set to clash away from the pitch and in the transfer market this summer in what could be a big-money deal for Feyenoord's Ayase Ueda.
According to SportsBoom, however, it's Everton who are preparing an offer to sign Ueda as they look to blow Leeds away and land the 27-year-old before the Whites can act.
The deal won't come cheap, though. Feyenoord are reportedly set to open talks at around €35m (£30m), which means that Leeds will have to land one of their most expensive deals of all time if they want to sign the forward.
It's also unlikely that Everton's first offer reaches such heights. Reports are claiming that the Toffees are set to commence negotiations at just £20m - £10m away from Ueda's price-tag.

If the Toffees want to secure an out-and-out goalscorer, then they would be wise to add another £10m to their incoming offer for Ueda.
The Japan international scored 25 goals from an XG of just 18.9 last season. He's as clinical as it gets.
