Patriots Insider Recounts 'Unstoppable' Drake Maye-A.J. Brown Play From Minicamp

Drake Maye and A.J. Brown apparently already are in midseason form.

Alright, that might be a stretch, but it sounds like the Patriots quarterback and star receiver showed out during Tuesday's minicamp practice.

Boston Sports Journal's Greg Bedard watched the practice and left impressed by Maye's performance in the red zone-heavy session. In his practice recap, Bedard wrote Maye seemed "very sharp and on time," completing 20 of 23 passes in team drills while throwing touchdowns to Brown, Hunter Henry and Rhamondre Stevenson.

"Maye was 1 of 2 on back-shoulder passes to Brown," Bedard wrote. "The first was a thing of beauty and unstoppable against Kindle Vildor, who got his revenge on the next attempt."

Describing Brown's TD in a separate recap video, Bedard added, "Kindle Vildor was in good position, but A.J. Brown is just that good, that big. If you're a Patriots fan, you have to be really encouraged by that, that already, they show the timing on those types of passes."

Obviously, these are just minicamp practices, where players don't wear pads and aren't allowed to tackle. You have to take everything that happens during minicamp with a grain of salt.

Nevertheless, it sounds like the Maye-Brown connection is off to a great start.
