How Derrick Henry forced Old Spice to pay comedian more than $100,000

Former Alabama and current Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry forced Old Spice to pay comedian Ha Ha Davis more than six figures, according to the comedian.

Davis shared how this came about while talking to Shannon Sharpe on “Club Shay Shay.” The payout stemmed from Old Spice using the comedic strategy Davis made popular, of using double words.

“I couldn’t patent the double words,” Davis said. “But when you see the Old Spice commercial… when they were doing a double word. That’s when I posted it on my page like, come on, y’all can’t just run off with the sauce and Derrick Henry hit me and said, “I’m not working with Old Spice no more until they pay.” Made them people pay me. That was the realest thing that I can say Derrick Henry did. I always appreciate him for that.”

Davis went on to confirm he was paid more than six figures, and the running back did not ask for any of the money in return.
