Reports have suggested that Chelsea have entered the race to sign Spanish playmaker Dani Olmo this summer, with new Blues boss Xabi Alonso believed to be a huge admirer of the talented attacker as he looks to reshape his squad at Stamford Bridge.
While there is likely to be strong competition for Olmo’s signature, it is easy to understand why Alonso would be pushing for the move.
CHELSEA have spent heavily in recent transfer windows, but one area that has often lacked consistency is creativity in the final third. Olmo would immediately address that issue.
The Spain international is one of Europe’s most intelligent attacking midfielders, capable of operating as a No.10, on either wing, or even in a deeper creative role when required.

Chelsea have often dominated possession without creating enough clear-cut opportunities, but Olmo possesses the creativity needed to turn control into goals.
His technical quality would also complement players such as Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez and Chelsea’s attacking forwards. Defenders are forced to track Olmo’s movement, creating space for teammates and making the entire attack more dangerous.
For Alonso, signing Olmo would not simply be about adding another talented footballer. It would be about bringing in a player who understands positional play, thrives under pressure and possesses the intelligence to dictate matches.
If CHELSEA can win the race for Dani Olmo, they would be signing a proven international star capable of transforming their attack.
