The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly open to including 11-year NBA veteran big man Bobby Portis in a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, with multiple contenders monitoring the situation.
The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly exploring the possibility of including Bobby Portis in a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, according to Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.
"There is a growing belief in some corners that the Giannis trade – if it happens, of course – will also include Bobby Portis," Reynolds reported.
According to NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer, several teams are closely monitoring the situation as the NBA Finals unfold. The Bucks are expected to gain a clearer understanding of the trade market once the 2026 Finals conclude.
One scenario drawing significant attention involves the New York Knicks.
Previously seen as a potential landing spot for Antetokounmpo last summer, New York could re-emerge as a serious suitor if their championship run ends in disappointment.
The Knicks currently hold a 2-1 lead over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, but there is growing belief around the league that a failed bid for their first title since 1973 could reignite their interest in pursuing Giannis.

Miami Heat emerging as a potential frontrunner
While several teams have been linked to Antetokounmpo, the Miami Heat are increasingly viewed as one of the strongest contenders if he becomes available.
During an appearance on ESPN's Get Up, NBA insider Brian Windhorst explained why Miami stands out among potential suitors.
According to Windhorst, the Heat offer a strong mix of trade assets and organizational appeal.
"The team to watch here is Miami," he said. "Miami would say to what I just said, they go, 'well, we got Tyler Hero, who is a young player who's been an all-star. We got draft picks, including the 13th pick in this draft. We can give you a good, a pretty good lottery pick in this draft.' And Giannis, I think, wants to be in Miami. There's more checkmarks on Miami."

"Also, I'm not sure Boston's ready to trade Jaylen Brown. Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum have won a championship together. I thought that there was a decent chance we'd be in Boston right now for game three of these finals, and then Tatum got injured. I'm not sure Boston's ready to do that."
Miami has long been considered one of the NBA's most attractive destinations for star players, thanks to its winning culture, large market, and consistent competitiveness.

Other teams still in the mix
The Heat are not alone in the race. The Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Los Angeles Lakers have also been mentioned as possible destinations.
However, Miami's combination of young talent, draft capital, and roster flexibility could give it an edge over other interested teams.
Antetokounmpo is set to earn $58.5 million next season and holds a player option worth $62.8 million for the 2027-28 season.
