Madison Square Garden is expected to host one of the biggest games in New York Knicks history on Wednesday night. It also could become the center of the sports and entertainment worlds.
Pop superstar Taylor Swift is expected to attend Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs, according to a report from Page Six, adding another layer of celebrity intrigue to a championship series that has already captivated basketball fans across the country.
“She’s a huge fan of the Knicks and really wants to be there to support them. She is going with friends,” a source told Page Six.
Swift’s reported appearance comes with the Knicks seeking a pivotal victory that would move them within one win of their first NBA title since 1973.
A source told Page Six that Swift plans to attend the game with friends to support the Knicks, a team she has been connected to throughout her years living in New York.
Taylor Swift Returns to Madison Square Garden for Knicks Finals Game
The reported visit arrives only weeks after Swift generated headlines among Knicks fans when she attended a Cleveland Cavaliers playoff game alongside fiancé Travis Kelce.
Kelce, a lifelong Cleveland sports fan, was dressed in Cavaliers gear during that appearance, prompting speculation about where Swift’s NBA loyalties might lie.
The Kansas City Chiefs star later clarified on his “New Heights” podcast that he was not attempting to convert Swift into a Cleveland fan and emphasized that the outing was simply an opportunity to share a part of his sports upbringing.
Swift’s connection to New York, however, stretches back more than a decade.
Since relocating to the city in 2014, the Grammy-winning singer has frequently attended major New York sporting events and has publicly supported the Knicks on multiple occasions. Her appearance at Game 4 would place one of the world’s most recognizable entertainers inside Madison Square Garden on a night that could become part of Knicks lore.
Page Six also reported, citing multiple sources, that Swift and Kelce are set to tie the knot at Madison Square — the home of the Knicks — on July 3.
Knicks Seek Commanding NBA Finals Lead
The celebrity spotlight will ultimately be secondary to what unfolds on the court.
New York enters Game 4 holding a 2-1 series lead over the Spurs after suffering its first postseason loss in nearly three weeks during Monday’s 115-111 defeat.
The Knicks had won 13 consecutive games before San Antonio’s breakthrough performance, led by Victor Wembanyama’s 32 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three blocked shots.
The series has taken an unusual path through three games, with the road team winning every contest so far.
Only one previous NBA Finals matchup — the 1993 series between the Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns — featured road teams winning the first three games.
Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns said New York must regain control of the game’s physical tone after San Antonio dictated much of the action in Game 3.
“The Spurs have done a great job starting in the game, dictating the pace and dictating how the game is going,” Towns said. “We have to try to be the first ones to throw the first punch.”

Wembanyama’s dominant Game 3 performance came amid increasing tension between the teams.
The Spurs superstar drew criticism from Knicks fans after making contact with Jalen Brunson’s head during Monday’s game. The NBA later declined to assess Wembanyama a flagrant foul, a decision that is expected to fuel an even louder reaction from the Madison Square Garden crowd.
Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox defended his teammate’s physical approach.
“If you get hit, you hit back. That’s life,” Fox said. “Every time he rolls, he gets tagged, he gets hit. If he’s trying to go set a screen, box out, whatever it may be, he’s getting grabbed, he’s getting held.”
Those comments are unlikely to soften the reception awaiting Wembanyama in Game 4.
Madison Square Garden Hosts Another Signature Night
For decades, Madison Square Garden has served as a backdrop for championship moments, celebrity appearances and unforgettable sporting events.
Wednesday night promises all three.
With Swift reportedly expected in attendance, Wembanyama embracing the role of New York’s latest basketball villain and the Knicks chasing a commanding NBA Finals lead, Game 4 carries the feel of a defining moment for both the franchise and the city.
Whether New York can capitalize may determine if the Garden hosts a championship celebration before the series is over.
