Drake Maye 'On Another Level' At Mini-Camp, Completed 95% Of Passes

I'm starting to think that there is truly no limit to how good New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye can be.

When he was drafted in 2024, the rookie out of the University of North Carolina was the lone bright spot on a train wreck of a team. He flashed several times, but at the end of the season, Maye had thrown 10 interceptions and fumbled nine times.

Nobody could have expected what came in season one with Mike Vrabel.

Maye threw for more than 5,000 yards in the regular season and postseason combined. He led the league in most advanced analytics and almost single-handedly brought New England to a 14-3 regular season record.

However good you remember the 23-year-old playing, he played better.

What can fans truly expect from Maye heading into year three? Are MVP campaigns the new normal from New England's young stud signal-caller, or is there a regression in the works?

All the Patriots have done this offseason is add a three-time All-Pro pass catcher and a more than viable wide receiver No. 2 option in A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs.

On his first day of mini-camp, Drake Silver, who was at mini-camp, said the gunslinger was "on another level." By Silver's count, Maye completed 38 of his 40 passes during drills against the team's defense. Silver counted seven touchdown connections.

#Patriots Minicamp Observations:

💥 🚊 Maye to Brown was nearly unstoppable for an entire 11-on-11 period, connecting on 7-8 targets for 2 TDs

🎯 Drake Maye was on another level throughout team drills and 7-on-7, going 38-40 for 7 TDs

📝 Gonzalez and Boutte were both present

It's hard to play better than Maye did last year. It's hard to even picture what that might look like. But if the young quarterback has another gear fans still haven't seen yet, things are going to get really scary in the AFC East.
