Premier League midfielder refuses to shut down Arsenal transfer links

Morgan Rogers has addressed growing speculation linking him with a summer move to Arsenal, insisting his full focus remains on England’s World Cup campaign.

The Aston Villa attacker has emerged as one of the most talked-about names ahead of the transfer window after another outstanding season under Unai Emery.

Rogers played a key role in Villa’s success during the 2025-26 campaign, helping the club secure Champions League football and end a 30-year wait for major silverware by lifting the Europa League.

The 23-year-old registered 10 Premier League goals and six assists while continuing his rapid rise into one of England’s most exciting attacking talents.

His performances have inevitably attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with the England international in recent weeks, with reports suggesting Mikel Arteta views Rogers as a priority target this summer.

It has also been claimed that preliminary discussions have taken place and that the player would be open to considering a move to north London.

However, speaking from England’s World Cup training camp in Florida, Rogers appeared keen to distance himself from the growing speculation.

The midfielder admitted transfer rumours can be difficult to ignore but stressed that experience has taught him how to handle the attention.

“I think the first time it ever happened it was,” Rogers said when asked whether transfer speculation had affected him. “You’re in an uncomfortable spot of not realising that people have so much interest in you and you’re not quite realising that.”

The Villa star believes dealing with outside noise is now simply part of life as a top-level footballer.

“But as you get older and gain experience along the way, you know that comes with it and 95 per cent of it is just noise,” he explained. “You hear it, course you do. You can’t help not hearing it.”

Rogers remains under contract at Aston Villa until 2031, placing the Midlands club in a strong negotiating position should interest intensify during the summer.

Reports have suggested Villa would demand a fee in excess of £80 million before even considering a sale.

That figure reflects both his importance to Emery’s side and his remarkable development over the last two seasons.

For Arsenal supporters, the comments do little to shut down speculation entirely.

Rogers stopped short of dismissing the rumours and instead focused on his performances for England.

With the World Cup now underway, the attacking midfielder appears determined to let his football do the talking before any decisions are made regarding his future.

Whether Arsenal pursue a formal move remains to be seen, but Rogers’ stock continues to rise with every passing month.
