Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama gets NSFW taunts from Knicks fans before NBA Finals Game 4

On Wednesday night, the San Antonio Spurs will hit the floor for Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the New York Knicks as they look to tie things up at 2-2. The Spurs turned in an impressive performance in Game 3 of the series earlier this week to make things interesting moving forward.

When they haven't been assaulting Spurs fans outside the arena, Knicks fans have been congregating outside the San Antonio team hotel to berate the players, and that continued on Wednesday as the Spurs headed to MSG for shootaround.

Karl-Anthony Towns certainly didn't appear to “own” Victor Wembanyama on Monday night, as the Spurs star scored 32 points on 18 shots, as compared to Towns' quiet 11 points. Earlier in the series, KAT had done as good a job on defense against Wemby as anyone in these playoffs, but the Spurs now appear to have made the necessary adjustments moving forward.

On Monday, Madison Square Garden was rocking for its first NBA Finals game in 27 years, but it seemed to be the hometown Knicks instead of the Spurs who were more rattled by the raucous environment early on. While New York battled back to take a seven-point lead into halftime, San Antonio took control in the second half and ultimately held on for a narrow road victory.

In Game 4, the Spurs will want to see Wembanyama once again attack the basket early and often, while maintaining his historical dominance on the defensive end of the floor against a Knicks team that finally started to cool off on Monday.

In any case, Game 4 of the Spurs vs Knicks series is slated for Wednesday at 8:30 pm ET. Spurs fans attending the contest would be wise to take off their gear before they hit the streets outside Madison Square Garden after the game.
