New York Knicks player Josh Hart has been married to Shannon Hart, his high school sweetheart, since August 2021.
The couple first met when they were both students at Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C.
Josh and Shannon share 3-year-old twin sons Hendrix and Haze, who were born in May 2023.

The New York Knicks shooting guard and the registered nurse have been in sync with one another since they first met as high school students in 2010. They started out just friends until one fateful night when, per The New York Times, a 15-year-old Josh texted his future wife, “Do you like me?” They went on their first date a few weeks later, kicking off their slam-dunk love story of over a decade.
In August 2021, the high school sweethearts got married in an intimate South Beach ceremony. They’ve since become a family of four, welcoming twin sons Hendrix Aaron and Haze Dana in 2023. Shannon and the boys can regularly be seen sitting courtside while they cheer on Josh—including at the electrifying 2026 NBA Finals games.

Shannon is a native of Greenbelt, Maryland, according to a joint New York Times profile of the couple. Her husband also hails from Maryland, having grown up in Silver Springs. The future spouses first met while attending Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. Josh asked her out on their first date on November 11, 2011, Shannon recalled to the Times.
She played soccer at Rutgers and the University of Maryland.

Josh isn’t the only athlete in the relationship. While he was playing college ball at Villanova, Shannon tore up the field as a soccer player for Rutgers and later for the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. At UMBC, she majored in health administration and public policy, according to her player bio.
The couple told The New York Times they “were on and off” in college, with Shannon explaining, “That helped us learn and grow. We always ended up back together. We knew in the end what it was going to be.”
She’s a registered nurse.

After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, Shannon continued her education at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. Josh was playing with the Los Angeles Lakers at the time, so Shannon would fly from L.A. to Maryland every two weeks for school, per the Times. In December 2019, Josh posted a photo from her graduation day to his Instagram, writing in the caption, “Congrats on graduating nursing school and cheers to new beginnings 🥂!”
Shannon has worked in orthopedics and sports medicine, per the Times. In September 2020, she posted on Instagram about her first day on the job.
She and Hart got engaged in 2020 and wed in 2021.

Over the 2020 holiday season, Josh got down on one knee and proposed to his high school sweetheart. Shannon revealed the news to her Instagram followers on December 26, sharing a close-up video of her diamond ring with the caption, “CANT BELIEVE IM ENGAGED!! 🥺🥺🥺 @jhart did amazing 😍😍😍.”
A day later, she shared photos from the proposal, revealing that Josh popped the question in a gazebo filled with candles and roses. He also managed to surprise Shannon with the proposal.
“Josh kept asking me to come to Miami or to come to L.A.,” she recalled to Southern Bride, “and normally when he goes on the road, he’s so ready for a break so I was like, 'Why does he keep asking me to come to places when he’s playing?' But then I thought I was overthinking it. But he actually really tricked me!”
Shannon and Josh wed on August 28, 2021 at 1 Hotel South Beach in Miami, Florida, per Southern Bride. For her big day, the bride wore a Pedram Couture ball gown. After the ceremony came a globe-trotting honeymoon, as the couple vacationed in Mykonos, Positano, and London.

Being a nurse, wife, and mom is a lot to juggle, but Shannon strives to keep her family “grounded” during basketball season.
"When he's away for games, I kind of just try to live a normal life and blur out all the extra noise that's going on. Every day we just continue to support each other and make sure each other feels important in our lives," she shared with People in a June 2026 interview, shortly after being dubbed a Most Valuable Parent by maternal wellness brand Frida (alongside fellow Knicks WAG Ali Brunson).
Asked how she and Josh show up for their twin sons, Shannon explained, "We love to do everything together just so they can see us as a family."
