While United States President Donald Trump will not be in attendance for Wednesday night’s Game 4 of the NBA Finals after attending Game 3 on Monday, it sounds like pop sensation Taylor Swift will be there.
The Knicks will be looking to take a commanding 3-1 lead over the San Antonio Spurs in the series as they play in their first NBA Finals since 1999, and it sounds like Swift will be in attendance supporting her favorite team.
Taylor Swift Attending Game 4
On Wednesday afternoon, Page Six reported that Taylor Swift will be attending Game 4 in Madison Square Garden, with a source telling the outlet that she is a “huge fan” of the Knicks.
“She’s a huge fan of the Knicks and really wants to be there to support them. She is going with friends,” the source told Page Six.
This will not be the first time that Swift has attended a game throughout New York’s playoff run.
Last month, Swift attended an Eastern Conference Finals game in Cleveland between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks alongside her fiancé, Travis Kelce, who is a very proud Cavs fan. While Kelce was openly rooting for the Cavs, it sounds like he was perfectly fine with her rooting for the Knicks.
During a recent episode of his “New Heights” podcast, Kelce explained that he was not “trying to persuade Taylor into being a Cleveland sports fan” with him.
“This was me just having a fun date night knowing that I love going to basketball games. We actually tried to go to a game in New York, but I was stuck in Kansas City. I love bringing her into the sports world that I appreciate,” he said. “Obviously, being a Cleveland sports fan all my life, getting Tay back to Cleveland and showing her my roots is always something I love doing.”
Kelce, who grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, admitted it was “tough to see” the Cavaliers lose to the Knicks, but he said that he will be rooting for the Knicks “from here on out.”
‘Reverse Trump’s Curse’
Swift’s attendance at the game quickly sparked a lot of conversation on social media, with many fans hoping that her presence will bring good luck to the Knicks after Trump’s appearance on Monday.
“They want her there to reverse Trump’s curse….” one fan wrote in a post on X.
“Vibes back, Knicks in 5,” someone else added.
“THIS IS WHAT THE KNICKS NEEDED,” another fan added.
“Today with Taylor, the Knicks are already winning,” someone else wrote.
“The side by side of her being cheered while Trump was booed to oblivion is going to be,” someone else commented.
Last time Taylor attended a Knicks game, the team won 121-108 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. We’ll have to see if she turns out to be a good luck charm on Wednesday night.
