Report: Arkansas basketball's Darius Acuff invited to NBA Draft Green Room

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas men's basketball point guard Darius Acuff was invited to the NBA Draft Green Room, per a report from ESPN's Jeremy Woo. The Green Room invitees are among the most coveted names in the draft, and most are expected to be selected in the lottery.

The NBA Draft is June 23-24 in Brooklyn, New York. Acuff is projected to be a top-10 pick.

Acuff won the Bob Cousy Award as the nation’s top point guard, won SEC Player and Freshman of the Year and was a consensus First-Team All-American. He was nominated for both the Naismith and Wooden National Player of the Year Awards.

He averaged 23.5 points and 6.4 assists per game this season. He was the first player to lead the SEC in both statistics since LSU’s Pete Maravich in 1969-70.

Acuff led Arkansas to the SEC Tournament title and a run to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.

The 6-3 point guard is viewed as a high level offensive prospect, though some scouts and prognosticators are concerned with his defense. Acuff averaged 0.8 steals per game in his lone collegiate season.

Should Acuff be selected in the draft, he would be the fifth one-and-done pick in Arkansas’ history. Moses Moody was the first in 2021 and Anthony Black, Nick Smith and Jordan Walsh joined him in 2023.

Former Razorbacks Meleek Thomas and Trevon Brazile are also expected to be selected in the NBA Draft.

Thomas, a freshman guard who averaged 15.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, is projected to be a mid-to-late first-round selection. Brazile, a graduate who averaged 13 points and 7.3 rebounds this season, is projected to be an early-to-mid second-round pick.
