Kyrie Irving dazzled and mentored several top young prospects in the United States as he paid a recent visit to the NBPA Top 100 Camp.
Kyrie Irving has yet to be announced as fully recovered from his torn ACL recovery and rehabilitation, but he instantly turned the heads of everyone with his latest significant basketball activity.
The Dallas Mavericks star paid a visit to the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Rock Hill, South Carolina and dazzled everybody with his unfading brilliance and on-court wizardry.
Rather than playing against NBA peers, a recovering Irving visited the camp to mentor, teach and play light 1-on-1 sessions with the top 100 high school basketball players in the United States. From the explosiveness, dribble moves and crafty finishes, Irving appeared to be moving well like what he was used to.
In the end, Irving also delivered a motivational speech for the top young players of the nation.
"This mission is bigger than just the basketball court," he told the players. "I pray that you guys understand that you have a chance to change your life with the game of basketball, to utilize it as a vehicle to take you around the world, to meet different people, gain insight, gain knowledge.
"Last year, I had a very traumatic injury, tore my ACL. And just to be back out here in front of you guys, it's just an honor. I don't take for granted, man, it's been a long year, mentally, emotionally, something – when something that you love gets taken away from you for a temporary moment, that really defines you."
Kyrie Irving: Latest on Injury Recovery and Trade Talk
Irving did not play for the entire 2025-26 campaign with the Mavericks after sustaining the devastating injury last season.
"I am definitely close to being over at 100% in terms of my ACL recovery. I’m so grateful that I’ve had the time to heal everything," Irving said.
As such, his future standing in Dallas remains a mystery, as he has been subjected to multiple trade rumors over the past couple of weeks. An NBA insider does not fully expect Irving to stay and begin the next 2026-27 season wearing a Mavs uniform.
Rumors around Irving emerged following Masai Ujiri's front-office takeover and Jason Kidd's stunning dismissal within the Mavericks.
