Knicks’ Mitchell Robinson drills Victor Wembanyama’s chin, earns Flagrant

The New York Knicks entered Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs looking for a stranglehold on the series. They lead the series 2-1 with Wednesday's crucial game certain to tip the scales, one way or the other. Thus far, things have not gone as planned for New York.

San Antonio has led by as much as 25 points in the first half, with the Knicks looking lifeless. It appears the frustration of a game already slipping away may have crept onto the court.

Late in the first quarter, with New York trailing by 17, big man Mitchell Robinson caught Victor Wembanyama with an elbow to the chin. It was pretty blatant, with the refs assessing Robinson a Flagrant 1 foul.

The Knicks allowed 41 points in the opening stanza, trailing 41-22 after 12 minutes. The second quarter has not gone much better for New York, either.

San Antonio has taken a 25 point lead several times. Incredibly, seven different members of the Spurs have already knocked down a triple, with the team going 11-for-18 from downtown midway through the second quarter.

Wembanyama leads all scorers with 14 points, but San Antonio is getting contributions from all over the court. Devin Vassell has 12 points, and De'Aaron Fox has 11. The Spurs have 14 assists to just one turnover thus far.

Meanwhile, the Knicks have looked out of sorts. Karl-Anthony Towns picked up his second foul less than two minutes into the game. The Knicks are shooting just 42 percent from the field, with six turnovers.

If things do not turn around quickly, the Knicks will have burned home-court advantage and face going back to San Antonio tied, 2-2.
