Former LeBron James Cavs, Lakers teammate sees Michael Jordan as the GOAT

Growing up originally as a Chicago Bulls fan, J.R. Smith views Michael Jordan as the greatest player to ever do it in basketball.

The debate of who is the greatest player of all time in basketball will continue until the end of time. While everyone has their own and respective choices, J.R. Smith has also identified his GOAT pick.

Position: SG

Age: 40

Height: 198 cm

Weight: 100 kg

Birth place: United States of America

Although he hammered an unbreakable bond with LeBron James and won two championships with him in 2016 in Cleveland and in 2020 with the LA Lakers, Smith sees Michael Jordan as the best ever.

Smith dropped the revelation in his latest appearance on NBAT2, as he discussed his New York Knicks ties.

"I did not grow up a Knicks fan. I hated the Knicks. I did not like Patrick Ewing. I did not like John Starks. I didn't like anything about the Knicks," Smith began.

"I was a Bulls fan. I was a Michael Jordan fan. Michael Jordan is my GOAT. That's it."

JR Smith grew up in the same era as LeBron, watching the peak of MJ and Bulls dynasty

Smith played in the same era as LeBron James, and the Lakers superstar may not object to his stance given that both of them grew up watching Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls at their peak.

Jordan still stands as a larger-than-life figure and a cultural icon, who revolutionized basketball with his unmatchable dominance and competitiveness. He and the Bulls dominated the game throughout the '90s, winning two three-peats separately from 1991 to 1993 and 1996 to 1998.

Although he might not see LeBron as the best ever, Smith still definitely has a strong regard for his former teammate, who helped him redeem his career and become an NBA champion twice.
