For the third straight year, Stromile Swift, with the help of Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation, have opened their heart to the community, on the hardwood."

“Somebody poured into me when I was a youth, a youngster,” says Swift. “It inspired me. So, this is why I do this with the youth, to be able to give back in basketball and sow a seed of the word of God in their lives as well.”

On hand, he had the support of fellow Shreveport native and longtime fan, Hollyhood Bay Bay.

“In high school, I used to watch Stromile,” says Bay Bay. “In high school, I said, if you ever go pro, I want you to remember me and buy me something. Bro when and bought me a CD tower burner. We made a lot of money.”

On the court, after Swift’s 10 seasons of experience in the NBA, and SEC Co-Player of the Year honors in 2000, he enjoys seeing the next generation of future talent.

“Seeing the smiles on the kids faces,” says Swift. “The competitive hearts of some of the kids in here. A lot of them come just to have fun, but are super competitive and I really enjoy seeing that.”
