Manchester United are set for a busy summer as the transfer window rumbles on. Michael Carrick’s team require new signings as they prepare for a Champions League campaign next season.
United confirmed the departures of Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia as part of their retained list on Wednesday. The club have already aimed to address the hole left by Casemiro after striking a deal for midfielder Ederson.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford following his loan spell at Barcelona. The 28-year-old enjoyed his time in Spain and was clear about his desire to remain at the Camp Nou.
Barcelona have an option to sign the United star for £26million. However, Barcelona are claimed to have decided against the move after agreeing to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United.
As for possible signings, Carrick’s team have been linked with goalkeeper Karl Darlow, who is in talks over a new contract at Leeds United. Here's a round-up of some of the biggest stories surrounding the club.
Rashford reacts to transfer blow
Rashford has removed Barcelona from his Instagram bio following reports that the club will not trigger their £26m buy option. He registered 14 goals and assists apiece in 49 games last term.
Spanish publication Marca reports that Rashford will not be a Barcelona player next season after the club decided against the deal. It said that the signing of Gordon was proof that Barcelona’s interest in keeping Rashford had waned.
Barcelona are claimed to have favoured Gordon over Rashford as the former Newcastle United star is three-and-a-half years younger and had impressed Flick with his ability to carry out defensive duties. Rashford is set to return to United after the World Cup unless a deal can be agreed with another club.

Target in contract talks
Leeds have announced the club are in discussions over Karl Darlow’s future. The goalkeeper is nearing the end of his contract and has reportedly attracted interest from Old Trafford.
The Wales international has spent three years at Elland Road and became first-choice in the second half of last season, making 22 appearances. However, Daniel Farke’s side are reportedly in the market for a new shot-stopper.
Darlow has been linked with United and several other Premier League clubs ahead of possibly becoming a free agent. He would be an experienced back-up to Senne Lammens, with Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana not part of the club's plans.
