Spurs’ De’Aaron Fox breaks silence on blown layup late in Game 4 vs. Knicks

The San Antonio Spurs suffered one of the most unthinkable collapses in NBA history in Game 4 against the New York Knicks, seeing a 29-point lead disappear during the second half. Now, instead of a 2-2 series, the Knicks have a 3-1 lead.

The most pivotal play in the collapse came in the last 30 seconds with the Spurs leading by one. Jalen Brunson missed a tough floater to take the lead, and De'Aaron Fox collected the long rebound without anybody between him and the basket. Instead of holding onto the ball and getting fouled, almost securing a win, Fox tried to beat OG Anunoby to the basket.

Anunoby blocked the ill-advised shot and the Knicks called timeout. With just a second remaining, Anunoby tipped in Jalen Brunson's miss to give the Knicks a 107-106 win.

After the game, Fox talked about that final sequence.
