1 goal, 3 key passes, 93% passing: 54-touch Arsenal star makes big statement ahead of WC with…

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice produced a fabulous performance for England during their 3-0 international friendly win over Costa Rica in Orlando, USA.

The Gunners ace only recently reported to the Three Lions’ training camp. He starred in the World Cup warm-up yesterday with a fantastic all-round performance.

Rice opened the scoring in the 10th minute after a brilliant cut-back from Anthony Gordon. The 27-year-old’s left-footed shot found the far corner from a deflection.

He also completed 93 percent of his passes, playing from a left central midfield position. Rice likewise created three chances (most) with four successful crosses.

The midfielder had 54 touches in the game before he was replaced after the hour mark by Gunners teammate Eberechi Eze.

Noni Madueke and Bukayo Saka also featured in the World Cup dress rehearsal, but Rice made a statement with a strong display on his return to England duty.

Rice and Elliot Anderson were impressive as a central midfield pairing, and the duo have a big part to play at the World Cup if England want to go all the way to lift it.

The Three Lions start their World Cup campaign on June 17 against familiar foes Croatia, who beat them in the semi-final stage of the 2018 edition in Russia.

It promises to be another entertaining affair. England have also been drawn against Ghana and Panama, and should be favourites to finish top of the standings.
