**Nathan Patterson is expected to leave [Everton](/club/everton-fc) this summer, but the Toffees have clear conditions that need to be met before sanctioning his departure.**

The Blues are in the market for a new right-back this summer, as Jake O'Brien filled the position for the entirety of last season.

O'Brien is naturally a centre-back, and so there has been controversy around the continued use of the Irishman out of position.

However, David Moyes is keen to make the summer the window where they finally land a new right-back, with Patterson set to join Seamus Coleman on his way out of the club.

The Scottish international came to Goodison Park for £12million when signing from Rangers in 2022, but injuries and poor performances have now led to him being regarded as a flop.

Rangers are interested in re-signing Patterson, though Everton will not be messed around in negotiations.

It feels like the Blues have been linked with a plethora of right-backs over the last season or so, but it's clear what's needed this summer.

Coleman's departure has only increased the need for a new right-back, as the Toffees will need to narrow down their list of targets soon, with the window opening 15 June.

According to [TEAMtalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/everton/nathan-patterson-exit-guela-doue-aaron-wan-bissaka-toffees-transfer-news-ben-white), Everton are prepared to let Patterson leave this summer, but will only sanction his exit once they sign someone in his position.

The 24-year-old is said to be ready to leave in search of a new challenge, but Rangers may not be his next destination, with the Bears keen on signing Westerlo right-back, Bryan Reynolds.

Everton would then, of course, hope for any suitors to meet their financial demands of a sale.

That being said, it appears the Toffees have a clear list of targets who could soon walk through the doors at Finch Farm

After months of links to potential signings, Everton may now have narrowed their shortlist down to five.

The Toffees have been credited with interest in Arsenal's Ben White, while the latest links have seen a connection to Atalanta and Italy international, Raoul Bellanova.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is of interest to Moyes, but a separation in value could force the Toffees to pursue Strasbourg's Guela Doue.

If all else fails, Everton may still look to sign Sevilla’s Juanlu Sanchez, as the Spanish side also, funnily enough, have been mooted with interest in Patterson previously.
