Liverpool have confirmed they made an exciting offer for an international midfielder.

Liverpool are approaching what could be one of the most significant summers in their modern era, with sweeping change set to reshape the club from top to bottom. From the dugout to the dressing room, Anfield is preparing for a new chapter under Andoni Iraola following the departure of Arne Slot.

The appointment of Iraola represents a clear shift in direction, with Liverpool entrusting one of Europe’s most highly rated coaches with the task of leading the next phase of their evolution. He is expected to bring several members of his trusted coaching staff with him, introducing the high-intensity, energetic style that earned him widespread acclaim during his time at AFC Bournemouth.

As a result, the team’s tactical identity is likely to undergo noticeable change. Iraola’s approach is built on aggressive pressing, rapid transitions, and relentless intensity - principles that many supporters feel align with the most successful elements of Liverpool’s recent history.

Behind the scenes, training methods, match preparation, and individual player responsibilities are all expected to be reshaped under the new regime, reflecting a broader shift in how the squad operates day to day. It is precisely the kind of evolution many fans have been calling for.

However, the managerial appointment represents only one piece of a much larger transformation taking place at the club.

Liverpool’s midfield could also be set for notable change this summer as Iraola looks to shape the squad in line with his own tactical ideas.

While attention has largely been directed elsewhere, the midfield is increasingly emerging as an area that may require serious evaluation in the coming months.

There is growing uncertainty over the futures of both Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones. Jones is now entering the final year of his contract, and with negotiations yet to reach a decisive stage, Liverpool could soon face a key decision if a suitable offer arrives.

Mac Allister’s situation is arguably more intricate. The Argentine remains one of Liverpool’s most technically gifted and intelligent midfielders, but questions are beginning to surface over whether he fully aligns with the relentless tempo and intensity demanded by Iraola’s system.

With his contract now moving into its final two years, Liverpool are approaching an important crossroads. The club have traditionally been careful not to allow key assets to run too far down their deals without either agreeing an extension or capitalising on their transfer value.

Interest from elite European sides such as Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid only increases the pressure. If Liverpool were to sanction a sale, this summer could represent their strongest opportunity to secure a maximum fee before Mac Allister’s market value begins to decline later in his contract cycle.

One midfielder who will likely stay at the club though is Kyle Kelly.

Liverpool confirmed on Tuesday night that the young midfielder has been offered a contract extension in an exciting development.

Kelly is 20-years-old and he has been a lynchpin in Liverpool's U21 side over the course of the last few years.

He has also been a regular for St Kitts and Nevis at senior international level for over a year now, despite not yet making his appearance for the club's first-team.

Recently against the Solomon Islands in the FIFA Series tournament, the Liverpool academy graduate made his mark with a stunning goal, scoring his first professional goal in senior football.

Kelly picked up the ball around 35 yards from the opposition's goal, took a couple of touches before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the net with such force and power that it looked like prime Gerrard had struck the ball.

A really energetic and technically gifted footballer, it's nice to see Liverpool making strong attempts to tie down Kelly to a new deal. Next up, a loan move could be on the cards, as he's definitely ready to make his mark in senior football.
