There aren't many more interesting things around the NFL at the moment than the [Minnesota Vikings](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/minnesota-vikings)' quarterback situation.
J.J. McCarthy and Kyler Murray both have their promises as players, but also some negatives. McCarthy was a very good college player, but he really hasn't shown the ability to be an above-average NFL player.
The same can't be said at the moment for Murray, who has at least proven throughout parts of his NFL career that he can be a very good player and win on a contending team.
With the expectation that Murray is going to win the job, at least it seems like he should because there would have been no reason for the Vikings to bring him in if there wasn't any chance of him starting, there have been questions about whether McCarthy could be moved or if he even wants to be in Minnesota any longer.
When speaking to reporters about that, he shut down the idea that he doesn't want to play for the Vikings any longer, adding that he has made it clear that he wants to play with the organization.
"I think I made it very clear I wanted to be here, before I got here," McCarthy [said](https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/jj-mccarthy-hopes-vikings-don-t-trade-him-this-is-where-i-want-to-be/ar-AA25ejYR), H/T SI. "And I love this organization, I love the coaching staff, I absolutely love these players to death. This is where I want to be. I feel like I can thrive in this system. Everything played out exactly how I wanted it and I wouldn't want anything else to change."
It's at least promising to hear that he wants to be in Minnesota, though reporters' questions are fair. McCarthy might be without a starting job, and while he's saying the right things at the moment, it's very possible that can change if things go south.
