They might want to wait this out for a couple of reasons, the first being that it allows them to get a look at what Raheim Sanders can be. I hear constant praise from him from the media despite only rushing for 27 times in 2025. The second reason being that the talent might actually be better when it comes to roster cut downs or a player a team trades away late on before exposing them to waivers. Todd Monken believes in running the ball heavily so you need to give him the talent to deliver on his plan. This is all based on the scenario that Raheim Sanders doesn't deliver, if he impresses in training camp they aren't adding anyone unless it is for injury.
Great Additions
Najee Harris - He is currently one of the best backs on the market. He is a limited player but he is a hard runner and will give the Browns a very good option on a one year deal to prove his health before cashing in next year. Which could turn into a comp pick for the team.
Joe Mixon - He missed the entire 2025 season with an injury but if he is healthy then he would offer real value as Judkins' backup. It is worth a call to see what he is looking for.
Good Additions
Kareem Hunt - He is an experienced veteran rusher who can come in and do a job for the Browns again.
Austin Ekeler - He missed the majority of the 2025 season after a week two achilles injury but I would be willing to bet he can bounce back and become a solid contributor again.
Okay Additions
Nick Chubb - In terms of nostalgia it is a great addition, but he hasn't been the same player for the last two years. If they add him he can still produce at the level you expect from a third running back on a depth chart but ideally you want more.
Raheem Mostert - A couple of years ago he would have been much higher up the order but age appears to be catching up. I can forgive part of the 2025 season due to him being with the Raiders who were missing an offensive line.
Miles Sanders - There is bounce back potential but it is hardly an inspiring addition.
Khalil Herbert - You are looking at two poor years since his run of three great seasons but it is worth a go if he is coming in to compete.
Antonio Gibson - His 2025 season was poor but there is still talent there to see what he an offer the Browns.
Alexander Mattison - There have been two down years but he was a solid player and could offer them something as depth.
Wildcard Option
Zamir White - I would be tempted to bring him in and see if he can compete, while the last couple of years have been poor he was handicapped by being in Vegas. He could be someone you sign now for Sanders to compete with.
