New Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has hit the ground running in the transfer market.
The Spaniard stepped into the dugout as Arne Slot's successor following the Dutchman's dismissal, and after a fifth-place Premier League finish, there is widespread agreement that fresh talent is needed on Merseyside. Iraola has penned a contract through to the 2027/28 season, a familiar arrangement for the coach who cut his managerial teeth at Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.
Despite it being a relatively short-term deal, Iraola will have his sights firmly fixed on emulating Jurgen Klopp by cementing himself as a Kop legend, though the challenge ahead is considerable. Here, Liverpool.com rounds up some of the biggest stories surrounding the Reds over the past 24 hours.
Iraola eyes Cherries raid
One of the rising names believed to be on Iraola's radar is Bournemouth star Alex Scott, who has flourished under his guidance.
Earlier this week, talkSPORT reported that links between Liverpool and the 23-year-old were emerging, with "noise growing" around his future. Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked with an interest in the highly-regarded midfielder.
The Cherries are reluctant to part ways, however, and have placed a hefty £80 million ($107 million) valuation on his head in a bid to deter potential suitors. The South Coast club has developed a reputation for selling its promising talents for substantial profit, including Dean Huijsen, Ilya Zabarnyi, Kerkez, and Antoine Semenyo.

Scott could be the next high-profile name to seek fresh challenges as he aims to break into Thomas Tuchel's England squad.
Whether Bournemouth's valuation places Scott beyond Liverpool's reach remains to be seen, though the two clubs' relationship is understood to be on good terms.
Sporting director Richard Hughes previously held a position at the Vitality Stadium prior to joining Liverpool, and was a key figure in bringing both Iraola and Kerkez to the club last summer.
Agreement in place
Liverpool is not unduly concerned about the immediate need for a replacement following Ibrahima Konate's departure.
It is understood that the Reds may assess their center-back options during the window, but with numerous other priorities to address, the young pairing of Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet has been quietly talked up internally.

An additional card up their sleeve is the clause included in Jarell Quansah's deal when he was transferred to Bayer Leverkusen. The 22-year-old has impressed in his debut season in the Bundesliga and earned a place in England's World Cup squad.
Liverpool retains the option to re-sign Quansah for £55 million ($73 million) this summer as part of the terms agreed upon his sale, which would represent a £20 million ($26 million) loss on the fee received 12 months ago. However, given his homegrown status, it may well be an avenue that Iraola and Liverpool consider toward the close of the window.
The Liverpool ECHO reports that the England center-half has "already agreed personal terms" on an Anfield contract, should the Reds opt to activate their buy-back clause. This certainly eases pressure on Liverpool's recruitment team, knowing they can finalize a transfer in the coming weeks if additional defensive cover is needed.
