Liverpool striker Keyrol Figueroa was among eight youngsters offered new contracts at the end of the season, with the 19-year-old now expected to sign.
Figueroa’s current deal with Liverpool expires this summer and the club are making efforts to tie the Honduras international down.
Days after the teenager made his senior international debut, it was announced that he had been presented with a contract offer along with seven other academy players.
Honduran outlet Deportes TVC now reports that Figueroa’s representatives are expected to finalise that extension in the coming days before he puts pen to paper.
It will mean Figueroa stays at Liverpool for at least another year, fending off interest from MLS sides New York Red Bulls and Charlotte FC along with LaLiga’s Elche, as reported by La Prensa in January.
What next for Keyrol Figueroa? Loan chances and pre-season tour

He could still leave the club on loan for the 2026/27 campaign though any decision over his immediate future is likely to be made later in the summer.
That comes with Figueroa among the options for new head coach Andoni Iraola in the first weeks of pre-season, which could see his involvement in the pre-season tour of the United States.
Born in Honduras, the centre-forward relocated to England when his father, left-back Maynor Figueroa, joined Wigan in 2008, before the family then moved to the US after a transfer to Colorado Rapids seven years later.
Figueroa subsequently represented America through the age groups from U17s to U20s before switching his allegiance to his native country this summer.
His potential role in the tour of the US would nevertheless be significant, and he could provide Iraola with a useful option in the absence of Hugo Ekitike through injury and Alexander Isak due to the World Cup.
U21s captain Kieran Morrison (14) was the only player to score more goals than Figueroa (12) in last season’s Premier League 2, with the latter doing so in only 779 minutes on the pitch.

Liverpool also offered new deals to training goalkeeper Matty Wright, defenders Prince Kobe Cisse and Lucas Pitt, and midfielders Ben Trueman, Kyle Kelly, Fola Onanuga and Ollie O’Connor.
Pitt is understood to have already agreed a one-year extension and the expectation is that the majority if not all will follow suit.
Nine academy players were named on the club’s released list, those being: Jacob Poytress, DJ Bernard, Rhys Williams, Terence Miles, Emmanuel Airoboma, Josh Davidson, James Balagizi, Kareem Ahmed and Oakley Cannonier.
