Manchester United are preparing a big for Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangaré, who has ‘caught the eye’ with his performances this season.
Journalist Sébastien Denis reports that Manchester United are preparing to make a bid for the 23-year-old, who is likely to cost more than €40m.

According to the French journalist, Mamadou Sangaré has more than a dozen clubs interested in him this summer thanks to his performances for the Ligue 1 club.
Predominantly a defensive midfielder, he was one of Lens key players this season. He made 29 appearances in Ligue 1, scoring three times and assisting four.
He stood out on the team that finished second in Ligue 1 under Pierre Sage, as well as winning the Coupe de France, and now there is widespread interest in his services.
Denis reports that Manchester United have noticed him and are preparing a bid to bring him to Old Trafford this summer. They’re yet to submit that bid though. Nor have any of his other suitors made an offer either.
More than €40m needed
According to Denis, the midfielder is currently rated at €40m. But the ‘amount expected’ to sign him will be ‘much higher’ than that. Lens paid €8m to sign him from Rapid Vienna last summer. So the French side are eyeing a huge profit after just one year.
His current deal with the club runs until 2030 too. So the power is very much in their hands when it comes to negotiations.
The French side are facing a difficult summer already. Manager Pierre Sage is already departing and set to join Crystal Palace.
Mamadou Sangaré is just one of their star players who is likely to be targeted too following their impressive campaign this season.
Manchester United are the first to make a move. But they may not be the only ones given the number of interested parties that Denis reports exist.
