President OFFICIALLY confirms Man United talks in progress over deal for£200k-a-week star!

Manchester United are in discussions with Turkish Süper Lig side Trabzonspor over a potential deal involving goalkeeper André Onana, according to comments made by the Turkish club’s president, adding fresh uncertainty around the Cameroonian’s future at Old Trafford.

Speaking to local media, Trabzonspor president Ertuğrul Doğan confirmed that contact has been made between the two clubs, though he stressed that negotiations remain at an early stage and no agreement has been reached.

The revelation has fuelled speculation that Manchester United could be open to reshaping their goalkeeping department ahead of the new season.

Onana, who joined Manchester United from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023 for a fee reported to be around £47 million, has endured a mixed spell in the Premier League.

While he has showcased his distribution skills and ability to operate as a sweeper-keeper, his tenure has also been marked by high-profile errors and inconsistency in crucial matches.

Trabzonspor’s interest is understood to be part of a broader effort to strengthen their squad with experienced international players, although it remains unclear whether Onana himself would be open to a permanent move to Turkey at this stage of his career.

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has revealed he is in daily conversation with the Red Devis: “We’ll make the necessary sacrifices. I don’t think we will experience any setbacks,” he said. “But if we do, we will find another goalkeeper of the same quality.”

Supporters argue that the pressure at Manchester United demands near-perfect reliability in goal, particularly given the team’s ongoing struggles with defensive stability. Mistakes in high-profile matches have amplified scrutiny, with some believing a fresh start would benefit both player and club.

A move to Trabzonspor is being viewed by some as a chance for Onana to reset his career in a less intense environment, where he could rebuild confidence away from the relentless spotlight of the Premier League.

The Turkish club would also gain an experienced international goalkeeper capable of elevating their ambitions domestically and in Europe.

For Manchester United, a permanent exit would open the door to a squad reset in a key position, while for Onana, it could represent an opportunity to regain form and consistency in a new chapter abroad
