Lewis Hall: What’s been said up to this point?

A move to Old Trafford is said to‘greatly appeal’ to Hall, who was left devastated after his best efforts throughout 2025/2026 proved not enough to earn a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup selection.

Meanwhile, fellow youngster and compatriot Kobbie Mainoo was called up for England, despite not making a single Premier League start or featuring prominently until Michael Carrick took charge at United in mid-January.

Hall’s gutting omission has seemingly left him mulling over his future at St. James’ Park, where he swiftly became a fan-favourite following his £35 million move from Chelsea in July 2024.

Why Hall is tempted by United’s interest

Making the switch to United would also allow the 21-year-old to play in the Champions League again next season.

Newcastle failed to qualify after finishing 12th, which cast doubt over Eddie Howe’s future. However, the board have since opted to stick with him – as did INEOS with Carrick, who led the Reds to a third-placed finish.

While the Magpies are adamant that Hall is absolutely not for sale, it has been claimed that a bid in the region of £60m could be enough to force Newcastle’s hand.

Elsewhere, United have all but conceded defeat in the chase for Elliot Anderson.

Manchester City have made a verbal proposal worth an initial £105m, and while it doesn’t meet Nottingham Forest’s valuation, it looks as though terms can be agreed, especially given Anderson himself has his heart set on the Blues.
