Knicks’ Josh Hart knows he owes OG Anunoby his life after nearly blowing Game 4

As the New York Knicks pulled off the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history, it almost didn't happen because of a botched Josh Hart layup. But OG Anunoby made the game-winning plays on both ends of the floor to beat the San Antonio Spurs, and Hart acknowledged him, according to ClutchPoints' Kris Pursiainen.

“Josh Hart says OG Anunoby saved him from a lifetime of regret: “This game was crazy. Like I said, I got a special shoutout for OG, man. Because he saved me, at least for this game, a lifetime of regret, so. Yeah, man. Shoutout to him,” Hart told Pursiainen.

Anunoby's game-winning tip-in of a missed three-pointer from Jalen Brunson will go down in the history books. It saved what could have been a disaster final possession and put the Knicks on the edge of their first championship in 53 years. At one point, they trailed 81-52, which now stands as the largest deficit by a team that has won an NBA Finals game. This beats the previous mark of 24 points, set by the 2008 Boston Celtics when they rallied to stun the Los Angeles Lakers.

Hart finished with just six points while shooting 2 of 4 from the floor. He also had eight rebounds and six assists. He reflected on the game and what it means.

“Josh Hart says this is probably the second-best basketball night of his life. “I won a National Championship in 2016. Jalen and Mikal will probably remind you that they have two…that night is definitely number one,” Hart added.

The Knicks have a chance to win this series when they face the Spurs in Game 5 in San Antonio. Anunoby will look to continue sparking the Knicks to victory and a chance at NBA history.
