“Love that guy to death”: Saints Godchaux thrilled Coach O has returned to LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - New Orleans Saints defensive lineman and former LSU star Davon Godchaux is thrilled Ed Orgeron is back on the Tigers staff.

“Love that guy. Love that guy to death,” Godchaux told WAFB sports director Jacques Doucet Wednesday, “Did a lot for me and my family. Did a lot for me as a player. Told me that one day I’d be playing in the NFL for a long time. Told me things I needed to work on.”

Godchaux was a standout at Plaquemine High School before playing collegiately for LSU from 2014-17. Orgeron was initially Godchaux’s positions coach with the Tigers in 2015, before taking over for the fired Les Miles as the Tigers interim head coach in 2016.

Godchaux went on to become a 5th round draft selection by the Miami Dolphins in the 2017 NFL Draft.
