Jalen Hurts Speaks On A.J. Brown's Time With Eagles Coming To End

The Philadelphia Eagles traded A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots on June 1, and Jalen Hurts spoke on the end of his time with the Eagles.

Hurts was asked if there was any disappointment about how Brown's time with the Eagles came to an end. After four seasons, there were reports about Brown's relationship with Hurts deteriorating and his frustration with his role on the team. However, Hurts chose to focus on what they accomplished together and moving forward.

"You come into it and you have a sense of pride in how it began and definitely what we were able to accomplish," he said on Wednesday. "Nothing can take that away. For the great things that we did, now it's time to focus on achieving great things with this new iteration of the team."

Brown's final game with the Eagles pointed toward what was to come. He got into a screaming match on the sideline with Nick Siriani after rumors of him requesting a trade had been prevalent all season. In the offseason, trade rumors grew before the Patriots eventually got a deal done.

On Monday, ESPN reported that Brown was frustrated with Hurts' play last season.

"A good bit of his angst stemmed from the play of Hurts, league sources said, in part because of Hurts' perceived reluctance to target Brown on tight-window throws against zone coverage," wrote ESPN on Monday.

Brown and Hurts went to two Super Bowls together and won one together. Brown was a two-time Pro Bowler with the Eagles and will now look to leave a mark in New England. Meanwhile, Hurts is focused on moving forward without Brown.
