NBA rumors: Bucks rivals wondering about draft trade up amid Giannis Antetokounmpo buzz

The Milwaukee Bucks have some big decisions to make this summer as they look to bounce back from an ugly 2025-26 season. The biggest question for the Bucks revolves around Giannis Antetokounmpo and whether or not the team will finally look to trade the superstar this summer.

Currently, the Bucks have the number 10 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, but recently, NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that some feel the team may look to move up from that spot.

“The Bucks have also left some opposing front offices with the impression that they would like to trade up in the lottery if possible… That sentiment has only grown stronger since the Bucks sent a travel contingent to Orlando to meet with and observe Louisville's Mikel Brown Jr. in a private workout,” he reported on Marc Stein's Substack.

However, Fischer also made it clear that such a move will not necessarily be easy.

“…there are no obvious trade partners at the moment believed to be open to a trade-up swap with Milwaukee,” he reported.

ClutchPoints NBA insider Brett Siegel recently projected the Bucks to take Houston point guard Kingston Flemmings with the number ten pick if they do hold serve at that spot, describing him as a “…true point guard who can create offense for himself and others as a driver and mid-range finisher.”

Overall, Flemmings would seem to benefit the Bucks regardless of whether Antetokounmpo is on the floor for them next year, and trading Giannis would almost certainly yield Milwaukee some future assets to have at their disposal.

In any case, the NBA Draft is set to get underway on June 23 from Brooklyn.
