On Wednesday night, the New York Knicks moved within one game of an NBA title with a thrilling 29-point comeback to defeat the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4. The Knicks won this game when a Jalen Brunson three-pointer late fell short, but OG Anunoby got his fingertips on the ball, guiding it into the bottom of the net for the win.
Despite that miss, Brunson still had his strongest game of the series in this one, scoring 36 points on 12-25 from the field, and now, a new stat has been unearthed showing just how aggressive the star has been in hunting his shot so far in this series.
“Jalen Brunson is the first player since Allen Iverson in 2001 to have 25 field goal attempts or more through the first 4 games of an NBA Finals series,” reported ClutchPoints on X, formerly Twitter, citing a report from Stathead.
Brunson hasn't eclipsed 50 percent shooting from the field in any of the four games of this series, but his aggression alone has helped open up the floor for his teammates, including Anunoby, who scored 33 points on a hyper-efficient 10-15 from the floor, including the game-winner.

The Knicks are now just 48 minutes away from winning their first championship in 53 years, and they'll have a chance to close things out on Saturday in San Antonio in a building that will likely be full of invading New York fans.
Meanwhile, if the Knicks are able to end it that night, it will be fascinating to see who wins the Finals MVP award, as Brunson hasn't exactly played well in this series, but still made an undeniable impact in generating their comeback in Game 4.
In any case, Game 5 is set for Saturday at 8:30 pm ET.
