Cowboys Red River brings 2,500-square-foot dance hall ...

Cowboys Dancehall first opened its doors in 1989 in Dallas. Now, the popular country outpost has officially expanded to the Houston market, with a new location off of Bellaire Boulevard.

The new Houston location spans 36,789 square feet, according to a June 10 news release. At the heart of the space will be a 2,500-square-foot signature "racetrack"-style dance floor, expected to host crowds of up to 2,000 people per night.

The dancehall and saloon will also feature a large stage with live music acts, including regular appearances by "Runnin' Behind."

Guests can also expect other amenities such as:

Free valet for all unescorted ladies

An elevated patio

A large porte-cochère

Pool tables

Mechanical bull

Cowboys Red River will also offer free dance lessons every night.

"We’re fired up to bring Cowboys Red River to Houston," Scott Murphy, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, said in the news release. "For over 30 years, we’ve been the biggest, baddest honky-tonk in Texas. Now it’s Houston’s turn."

Cowboys Red River will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Cover is $8 for guests ages 21 and up, with free cover for women.
