LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - Longview ISD is seeking the public’s input on naming a new facility after former Lobo and professional football player Trent Williams.

Community members may submit feedback on the proposed naming through the district’s online survey.
Public feedback will be accepted through Monday, June 22. After the public input period closes, the naming committee will review the feedback and prepare a recommendation for consideration by the Longview ISD Board of Trustees at the July 27 regular meeting.
The district cites not only Williams long and succesful career in the NFL but how he has given back to the Longview community.
“Williams has spent more than a decade giving back to Longview students and families including the Silverback Free Football Camp, more than 1,000 student-athlete EKG screenings, locker room improvements, Christmas toy and bike giveaways, more than 1,000 pairs of shoes for Longview students, and dual-credit scholarship support,” the release states.
Williams graduate LISD in 2006 and was selected fourth overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. He has since earned multiple Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors.
