A.J. Brown Sends Drake Maye Message As Two Grow Connection For Patriots

The New England Patriots acquired A.J. Brown on June 1, and he has liked what he has seen from Drake Maye so far.

Brown has been with the team for less than two weeks and has spent very limited time playing with Maye. However, the two have gotten to spend time together through OTAs and mandatory minicamp, and Brown spoke highly of Maye after Thursday's practice.

"The talent speaks for itself," Brown said to reporters in a video posted by MassLive's Mark Daniels. "He can make any throw. What's more impressive for me is that he knows what he's doing. To be that young and to understand the defense, every little check, the hots, the blitz and all those things so young and so fast is very impressive. I really admire that he knows what he's talking about. He demands everybody else to know as well. He's a true leader. He's a true leader of men, and it's crazy to see at a young age."

Brown likely knew what type of player Maye was simply from seeing his performance from afar last year. He was the MVP runner-up, so the talent was never in question. However, Brown gets to see firsthand what type of leader Maye is. The great part is that Maye is entering just his third season, so he will continue to grow.

Brown has already won a Super Bowl, so he knows what it takes to win the big game. It starts with your quarterback, and Brown seems to like what he has seen from his new trigger man.
