Prince Cisse, the son of the former Liverpool striker Djibril, who won the European Cup with the Reds in 2005, has signed his first professional contract at the club.
A promising defender, Cisse played mainly for Liverpool's U18s last season, though he did make his U21s debut under Rob Page. He also played in the UEFA Youth League, which is the academy (U19s) version of the Champions League.
Liverpool confirmed earlier in the week that Cisse was one of eight players who were offered new terms to stay at Anfield beyond the end of the season just gone. He agreed the deal last month.
Cisse could now make the step up to Liverpool's U21s team permanently, though there will be a lot of competition in defense at that age group next season.
Mor Talla Ndiaye and Noah Adekoya both signed for the Reds in January, while Ifeanyi Ndukwe will soon arrive from Austria Vienna.
"I've seen the highlights. It’s nice to watch him back, see what he was like," 17-year-old Cisse said in February when discussing his father's career at Liverpool.

"A bit of a crazy player with his mad hairstyles and all that. Me playing center-back now, he was probably a striker that I wouldn’t want to play against. He seemed like a good player.
"I had pace but maybe my goalscoring ability probably wasn’t as good as his, hence why I’ve been moved to center-back.
"He was lightning-quick but I’d say I’m maybe a bit quicker."
Cisse, who was speaking the club website, was also asked about his ambitions moving forward after something of a breakthrough campaign.

"Short term, I just hope to keep progressing, getting better, keep starting in the U18s and maybe play a couple of U21s games — who knows?" he added.
"Then long term, I obviously want to get in the first team. I want to play for Liverpool for the rest of my life really — that’s what I want to do."
Liverpool.com says: Cisse did very well last season and he needs to continue that progression. Playing in a different position than his dad is no bad thing in terms of playing with the pressure of the family name.
