Patriots $7M Rookie Plans To Drive Nissan 'Till Wheels Fall Off'

The New England Patriots selected Notre Dame tight end Eli Raridon with the 95th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Raridon has already put pen to paper on his four-year, 6.75 million dollar contract. It came with a $1.368 million guaranteed signing bonus.

Raridon told reporters that he doesn't plan to spend a dime of that signing bonus on upgrading his wheels.

"Fun fact: TE Eli Raridon... drives a 2018 Nissan Altima and won’t be upgrading any time soon," Mike Reiss reported on X.

"Plan on driving it until the wheels fall off," Raridon told the swarm of reporters.

Raridon is going to have his plate full whent he season comes around after it was announced that free agent signee Julian Hill's season was ended before it began at OTAs.

With Hill out for the year, Raridon is in line to inherit the tight end No. 2 position in his rookie season. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels said the rookie is impressing early.

"The rookies are still in the pool. They’re swimming a little bit, which is to be expected… He’s making progress… learning something new every day… Eli has a good attitude and approach… He’s coming out trying to get better every day," McDaniels told reporters.
